Radio Sawa is (Arabic: راديو سوا) is an online radio station based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), that’s programming includes news, music, talk shows, and cultural programs. It is a U.S. government-funded radio station broadcasting in the Arab world from March 23, 2002. This radio station aims to cater to Arabic-speaking audiences with a mix of contemporary Arabic and Western pop music, alongside news segments and programming designed to engage young listeners in the Middle East. The word “sawa” (سوا, IPA: [ˈsæwæ, ˈsawa]) means “together” in many Arabic dialects. The station was created as a way to offer an alternative to traditional Arabic news outlets, promoting balanced news and information, with a focus on U.S. foreign policy and cultural exchange.
